Key questions to ask your Dealer |
|
Contract and Price - Find out what the final price includes even the small things such as hauling the dirt away, how much decking is included, does it include maintenance equipment and start up chemicals are just a few of the small things that if not pointed out should be asked. Most dealers have contracts that cover uncontrollable unseen things such as rocks, or high water tables and remedies that normal construction expenses are not covered in price find out how those situations are handled. Most of all be sure that any change to your original agreement be documented and approved ahead of time. Will a drawing of the project be presented with the contract to be signed.
Maintenance Requirements - Most dealers have base filter systems that are adequate for handling the volume of water. Depending on your expectations and needs to make maintenance easier find out specifically what is included, express your desires and wishes and address as much of it ahead of time before the project begins.
Installation - Expect your yard to be totally destroyed the day they show up to dig. Before they begin be sure to walk through and tell the dealer about the things you do not want disrupted. Find out the dealer's plan, your key contact during construction, timetable, work schedule /hours, estimated time for completion, what to expect from his crew and other working on the site. How much of the work during the process will be sub contracted to another company.
Service after the sale - As mentioned a swimming pool is a conglomeration of a number of components working together. Many of these components are covered by separate manufacturers' warranties such as the pool shell Royal Fiberglass Pools and the filter and pump XYC Company. The common denominator in all these warranties is your dealer or contractor that installed your pool, it should be a necessary process for them to cover these components and how they work. The key question is complaint and problem resolution and how are they handled.
