White pools in the past were basically the only color most dealers who sold fiberglass offered. Colored pools back them like paint involved adding colored pigment to the white base and these colors faded very quickly because of UV degradation.
Visit our Colour Coate Collection section to learn how our colored pools are far superior to the old pigmented colors of the past.
White pools still are in demand although, many choose the color alternative. If on a budget white pools offer the chance to traditionally install them with minimal amount of deck and customized options (tile, coping, deck pattern coating, water features). With a little planning during the initial construction process many of these things could be added at a later time or in stages.
Royal Fiberglass Pools uses 25 - 30 Mil thickness of ISO-NPG Gelcoat on our White Pools. This material is applied to our polished mold and thickness is frequently checked for consistency. This finish is a seamless smooth finish (very much like paint on a car) that will not affect the water chemistry of the pool. This non porous surface makes routine maintenance faster and easier than most alternative pool surfaces and does not require replacement over time like plaster ( every 7 - 10 years depending on chemistry) and vinyl liner pools (every 5 - 7 years depending on fit and chemistry).

Note: When using our Colour Coate Collection pools exposed coping is not recommended for two reasons swimmer comfort (surface could get warm) and UV degradation of the surface. UV will cause the exposed areas to prematurely weather and fade. This area can be restored to luster with constant waxing and buffing a responsibility most homeowners find very tedious. Therefore, if you are considering our Colour Coate Collection pools we strongly recommend you tile and cover the coping with brick or cantilevered decks.
